Seal entry points
Use sealants to close any gaps, cracks, or crevices around windows, doors, and walls to prevent pests from entering your home. You can also inspect and repair screens on attic vents, and make sure dryer vents and exhaust fan vents are pest-proof.

Schedule routine inspections
Call Black Diamond Pest Control for home inspections to identify where pests are entering and where to apply products like insecticide or rodenticide.

Eliminate water leaks
Check gutters to ensure they are clear of debris so water can flow freely. You can also remove birdbaths and empty wading pools when they aren't in use.

Store firewood properly
Keep firewood at least 20 feet from your home and 5 inches off the ground to prevent bugs from setting up shop in a stack.

Make repairs
Clean and screen all windows and doors, and repair any damaged screens.

Plant trees away from home
Trim tree branches that hang over your roof to create at least three or four feet of clearance from your roof.

Close up garbage
Clean up after meals and properly close garbage cans when storing them in your home or garage. You can also keep trash cans clean and sealed, and away from your home.
